The older generation of desoldering tweezers relied on manual (fixed) settings. In the original WMRT and WXMT series, the tips could occasionally move with a "scissor" effect or drift out of plane if an operator applied uneven pressure.

The current generation solves this with a self-adjusting parallel sliding mechanism. This ensures the tips stay perfectly aligned and move in a strictly parallel fashion. The result is uniform heat transfer to both sides of the component simultaneously - exactly what you need for a clean, professional removal from the PCB. 

• Versatility through active tip technology

While the previous generation of handles only supported Micro active tip cartridges (RTW/RTWMS), the new series is far more flexible. These handles now support both Pico (RTWPS) and Micro (RTWMS) active tip cartridges. By simply swapping the cartridge, the same handle pivots from working on 0603 components to ultra-fine 01005 tasks. This effectively doubles the utility of a single station channel.
