AC/DC open frame converters, also known as AC/DC converters, are used to convert the AC mains voltage into the required output DC voltage with a size according to the requirements of the powered device. As the name suggests, they are constructed without an enclosing casing, making them primarily intended for integration into the device itself.
They find their application mainly as power sources in industrial equipment and applications, as well as various other devices, where they are often referred to as switch-mode converters or switch-mode voltage sources.
