7-segment LED displays
As the name suggests, this type of display uses 7 LED segments to display characters. 7-segment LED displays are used to display numeric characters 0-9, a dash, and a dot, which forms a separate, essentially eighth segment. Depending on the usage, the body of the display can be designed to display one or multiple characters. Depending on the internal arrangement and connection of the LED diodes, it can be a 7-segment LED display with a common anode or a common cathode.
This type of display is commonly used in various measuring devices, digital clocks, alarm clocks, and similar devices.
