For a quick evaluation of GSM modules, company Quectel developed a very useful software tool named „QNavigator“ enabling a fast start of development with Quectel GSM modules. Perhaps the biggest advantage is that the QNavigator can be used even without any knowledge of AT commands (used to control GSM modules). To main functions of this tool belong SMS, Voice Call, TCP/UDP, PPP and AT Command (querrry and testing) sections. It is also able to proceed a “pressure” testing of AT commands sequence in a part called QCOM. In the AT Command section you´ll also find a complete description of all AT commands including their syntax.
QNavigator works with any Quectel development kit. A complete zip package with a program and a user guide can be downloaded here.
Another pleasing information is, that company Quectel substantially improved its website www.quectel.com, where for example in the download center it is now possible to easily find various datasheets, application notes and other documents for the development support.
