What is API and how does it work?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is an interface providing various information using the “question-answer“ system.
Software connecting to this interface will require e.g. list of goods with the name "BC546".
The API replies with all goods with the given name. The answer includes e.g. also information regarding price and stock inventory.
API uses HTTP as a communication protocol, communication is secured by an SSL certificate and the data in requests and responses are sold in JSON format.
What kind of information can you get from the SOS electronic API?
- Searching the goods in our database,
- detailed information about the goods,
- a list of your open orders,
- a list of invoices.
The most frequently searched information concerns goods. Our API can provide the following information:
- Purchase price including quantity discounts,
- stock inventory including stock in external warehouses,
- picture and product datasheet,
- technical parameters,
- manufacturer.
How big is the product database in our API?
We have approximately 10 000 products of various types in our warehouse that could be delivered immediately.
Apart from this, API also shares prices and delivery dates of parts from external warehouses. These are the warehouses of our partners, mostly directly the manufacturers, from which we can get the goods within 5-10 days. The price that is published in API applies to you. We update the stock inventory once a day. This way, we can offer you yet another 150,000 parts.
I want to get access to API. What do I need to do?
Request access details from our salesman with whom you communicate. You can find his name e.g. even after logging in to the e-shop in the upper right part of the screen.
We will then create a login name + password for you and send them to you with instructions on how to start automated communication. And REST API technology will take care of everything else.
