These are types of LCD displays that utilize a thin film with active matrix transistors, enabling the display of moving or static images on the surface. The pixels of these displays are divided into three subpixels of red, blue, and green colours, which are controlled by transistors. This allows for the display of shades within the RGB spectrum. The operation of the display requires control electronics, which, together with the display itself, form the LCD module. To view the image on the display, backlighting is typically required, often using LED diodes.
These are the most commonly used LCD displays, found in laptops, mobile phones, monitors, televisions, and similar devices.
